Blue Knights in the Heart of the "Fränkische Schweiz"

Following the great success in 2022 at the international motorcycle gathering of the police motorcycle club Blue Knights Germany 14 in the heart of Franconian Switzerland, in the market town of Gößweinstein, district Behringersmühle, our association decided to host the European meeting along with its 25th anniversary gathering at the same location.
After the community approved the date, the site in the  park Behringersmühle was authorized, and accommodations for about 400 guests were secured, extensive planning began two years ago.
The meeting was planned from the beginning as an outdoor event in a festive tent. Due to the numerous decentralized accommodations, eight shuttle buses were rented to transport guests to the festival grounds and back to their lodgings in the evening. A local butcher took care of the catering and a nearby tavern managed the drinks, two bands were hired and distinguished guests were invited.

On June 18, 2025 we began setting up with a lot of manpower:
A 500-person tent had to be erected, sanitary facilities installed, and the arrival of the guests for the next day prepared. 430 Blue Knights from all over Europe, from Sweden to Romania, from Belgium to Switzerland, from the USA and Canada had already registered in advance. Our international president also traveled all the way from Texas for the occasion. In addition to informational materials, guests received directions to their booked accommodations. Far beyond Gößweinstein, most of the accommodations were occupied by motorcyclists in blue vests.

On June 19, 2025, the honored guests arrived in the evening:
Foremost among them was the Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann, who is also a member of our club Blue Knights Germany 14. After an initial welcome in the fully occupied festival tent by our club president, the interior minister gave his greeting. Further greetings followed from District Administrator Dr. Hermann Ulm and the mayor of Gößweinstein, Mr. Hannjörg Zimmermann.
Following this, a donation of 2,000 Euros was presented to the Sonnenhaus of the Hoecke-Lauermann Foundation by the interior minister. Joachim Herrmann is a supporter of the foundation and has been closely connected to it for 26 years. The donation was accepted by Alwin Gebhardt, mayor of Unterleinleiter and board member, along with some residents. The evening concluded, under beer garden weather, with country music from the 'Red River Band.'

On Friday, the participants set off on a prepared "Castle Rally," a kind of motorcycle treasure hunt to 10 different castles in the region. At the same time, the political meeting of the attending club board members began at the Behringers conference hotel. Among other things, the venue for next year's presidential meeting in the Abruzzo region of Italy was presented. In the evening, the official welcome of the visiting chapters took place: 70 representatives from 17 nations gathered on stage and presented their gifts. The evening ended with some quieter music "from the box" and lively exchanges with numerous conversations.

For Saturday, we had planned something special: a ride on the historic steam train from Behringersmühle to Ebermannstadt and back. Over 300 Blue Knights took us up on our offer and enjoyed the ride through the Pegnitztal.

Musically, the rock band "Remember Tomorrow" shaped the final evening and was only released after several encores.

We enjoyed wonderful biker weather and spent marvelous days in beautiful Franconian Switzerland with our guests. Whatever problems and wishes arose during the preparations, we received unrestricted support from the community to hold a successful meeting.

Who knows, in 5 years our police motorcycle club will be 30 years old.
